It’s in the GeNes

The Rosalind GeNe collection prepares for a New York city launch during one of the most fashionable times in the big city: Fashion Week!  We find out how this young designer gets ready.

Background: This answer could go on for days. Most of what I could say wouldn't match up to who I am, where I've come from, and the person I'm becoming.

CM: With so many fashion brands starting everyday, what makes you stand out?

RL: My brand isn't just clothes and lifestyle, it's a statement. I make clothes for individuals who like to be just that "Individual." My clothes are fun and playful, yet sexy!

CM: What has been your biggest challenge?

RL: Life. It'll kick your a$$ if you let it.  Everyday brings about new challenges but life would be so "blah" if we didn't have challenges, set-backs or disappointments.  It's all needed for growth.
 
CM: How do you prepare for Fashion Week?

RL: Wow! Where do I begin? Sketching, Patterns, Sewing, Phone calls, yelling, crying, screaming, smiling, laughing, fittings, altering...and lots of Green Tea and No-doze pills. That pretty much sums it up...lol (laughing out loud)

CM: What advice can you offer young aspiring designers?

RL: First, I would ask them this question: If it came down to buying fabric or buying a meal, which would they choose? If they say fabric, then I would say they definitely have the passion it takes and that's half of what it takes.  Passion can take you far but you need the determination and persistence to go along with that. Oh, and of course the talent!! If you have all of that, you will go far!

CM: Give the Crème readers 5 reasons why they should buy Rosalind GeNe clothing?

RL: Well duh... because the clothes are super cool! (lol) But seriously, Rosalind GeNe offers people clothing that is refreshing, spunky, sexy... I can go on, but the clothes totally sell themselves and that's something that I love about Rosalind GeNe and I hope the world will one day too! Get ready, here I come!
