Chris Rock has stepped up and agreed to be Exec. Producer of the documentary film being shot about the legendary comedy club The Comic Strip, where Chris was discovered by club owner Richie Tienken and Eddie Murphy in 1986.

The film is being produced by Emmy-award winning producers Letterbox Pictures, to be released for the 35th anniversary of the club

which opened in 1976.   Shooting began in New York on July 29th, 2009.  

Other producers are owner/partner Bob Wachs, and comedy writer Jeffrey Gurian. Source.
