Crème Magazine: What inspired you to DJ?
DJ Kiss: I adore music and wanted to share my love of it with the world!
Crème Magazine: What is your regimen when getting ready for a party?
DJ Kiss: First I turn on some great music to get me in the party mood, grab an energy drink, try on clothes and shoes until I find a great outfit, do my hair, put on makeup, grab my stuff...and then I'm out the door!
Crème Magazine: What was the hottest party you ever spun?
DJ Kiss: Toss up between Diddy's Hollywood Walk of Fame party last year and Madonna's Oscar Afterparty this past February.
Crème Magazine: Do you have any pet peeves when DJ-ing?
DJ Kiss: People starring at you in the booth while you're trying to get into a groove!
Crème Magazine: DJ’s are famous for breaking records, what’s the last record you premiered in the club that had everyone going crazy?
DJ Kiss: Boom Boom Pow
Crème Magazine: Do you think that the CD revolution has enhanced or spoiled the DJ art form?
DJ Kiss: Neither. No matter what you use, vinyl, cds, or serato, you STILL have to know how to DJ. Serato doesn't DJ for you. It just allows you ease in transporting your music collection.
Crème Magazine: What are 3 key business attributes to being a successful DJ?
DJ Kiss:
1) A genuine love of music
2) Dedication to your craft
3) Determination to be the best
Crème Magazine: At the end of the day what’s your definition of a Hot Shot?
DJ Kiss: Someone who plays by their own rules!
