Name: Fatima B.

Company: The Tea Cup Group

Crème Magazine: How did you get your start?

Fatima B: In 2007 I was fortunate enough to intern and assist a stylist who styled some of the biggest names in the hip-hop and entertainment industries today such as 50 Cent and Missy Elliott. Working around them, I got the chance to see the ins and outs of the business. That allowed me to gain the experience I needed to go out and pursue my own career.

Crème Magazine: Tell us about your experience growing up in Japan and how that has helped you become the stylist that you are today?

Fatima B: Growing up in Japan was great. It gave me the opportunity to see and learn a different culture and their sense of style, like Tokyo street style. Which I use as inspiration on a lot of my work today and it also explains why my personal style is very versatile. I plan on taking a trip back soon.

Crème Magazine: Give us a quick rundown on who you've worked with thus far, and who would like to work with in the future?

Fatima B: I've worked with Soulja Boy, Juelz Santana, Christina Milian, Terrence J, Ron Browz, Tyga, Asher Roth and I recently started styling Nicki Minaj. I would love the opportunity to work with Kanye West and Miley Cyrus.

Crème Magazine: What's your typical routine and getting ready for a shoot or styling someone for an event?

Fatima B: I would start with researching magazines, blogs, pull tear sheets, etc. to see whats hot and new, then start setting up appointments with show rooms and new designers to start pulling and shopping for the client.

Crème Magazine:  Styling is a cool and fun job but also demands long hours, traveling and dealing with many different personalities on set, what do you do to take time off from your busy schedule?

Fatima B: The days off are rare, but when I can, I like to relax, travel and catch up with my family and friends.

Crème Magazine: Give us three items of clothing ladies should always have in the closet to complete or accessories an outfit.

Fatima B:
1. A black platform shoe. It could be pumps, booties, sandals or high boots. Very essential!
2. A good pair of jeans. Skinny and boyfriend jeans are in. J Brand jeans and Robin's Jeans have great fits.
3. Leather crop jacket - you can always dress it up or down! Its a great piece for day and night.

Crème Magazine:  And for the fellas?

Fatima B:
1. Knitted rugby Cardigan's.
2. Nobody Jeans, they're a dope brand out of Australia that's been making their way to the states.
3. Leather bomber jackets, Rock Smith, Sabit and Public School NYC carry dope pieces.

Crème Magazine: So, who are some of your favorite male and female best-dressed celebrities that you give a thumbs up to?

Fatima B: I love Fabolous' style. It's a street chic that works. I also love Kanye, Victoria Beckham and JLo's style.

Crème Magazine: What trends or looks will be in this year?

Fatima B: I think lace is making a come back, structured futuristic pieces, as well as Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen retro looks.

Crème Magazine: We know you have to go, but will come back soon to give the Crème readers your His and Her Wish list fashion item picks for this spring?

Fatima B: Of course with pleasure!
